This is what I think of when I hear the name Mickey Mouse:

But this is how legendary games designer Warren Spector – maker of the new Epic Mickey Nintendo Wii game – sees him:

After attending the launch party for the game at London’s Shoreditch Studios tonight, I won’t be able to look at the Mouse in the same way again – Mickey has grown up!!
Talking about his inspiration for the game which is out mid 2010, Warren said: ”I want him to be a hero… and I want to remind him that it’s okay to behave badly.”
Obviously I won’t know for sure until it’s out next year, but I reckon it will definitely affect my sleep – either because the dark scenes will give me nightmares or sleepless nights from playing it non-stop.
It begins when Mickey finds a magic mirror which transported him to this world, but spilt some paint and thinner on it by mistake.
His accident was costly and the pen-and-paper world mutated into dark twisted version of the original.
Players will need to explore this world and use the Wii Remote to paint structures and destroy enemies with paint thinner.
You can also find sketches throughout the game to use as powers by drawing them with your brush.
Bit of a change to Wii Tennis!
