Cocktail of The Week…Gingerbread Martini. Something I’ll definitely do this weekend!
13. November 2009

London’s Oxford St lights are on and Starbucks have their red cups, so it is officially not too early to start getting excited about Christmas.

Definitely an allowable guilty pleasure is the Gingerbread Martini – served the deVigne Bar at The Mandeville Hotel near Oxford Street.

It gives a nod to the festive season without cream or stodge, comes with a cute side order of smiling gingerbread man and the bar is handilly tucked away just behind Selfridges.

Best of all, when you buy one, £1 is donated to the Make a Wish Foundation – so good karma all around…

But if you wanted to recreate it at home then a gingerbread martini recipe is:

  • 40ml Grey Goose La Poire
  • 40ml D’Saronno Amaretto
  • 5ml vanilla syrup
  • 2 1/4-inch thick slices of fresh ginger
  • A pinch of cinnamon
  • A pinch of clove
  • A pinch of allspice
  • Crystallized ginger, for garnish and gingerbread men to serve!
