You know that bar in HBO TV show Ally McBeal where they all used to go to after work?
Well Lena on London’s Great Eastern St has a jazz bar in the basement with that same kind of laid back vibe and their signature Lena Martini deserves a mention.
It is made with Stolichnaya Razberi vodka and fresh raspberries – perfect to curl up in a booth with and listen to the live band (fit lawyer optional).
Or if sophisticated surfers are more your thing, Norman Cook’s Oki-Nami in Brighton does an amazing Cherry Blossom Mojito which you can enjoy along with sushi and the sort of eclectic soundtrack you’d expect from Mr Slim – plus a great view of the Pavilion.
But cocktail of the week goes to Lamb’s Spiced Rum, who have a drink created by mixologist Gary Hayward called ‘Christmas in the Caribbean’! Aaah…. dream on!
Christmas in the Caribbean
37.5ml Lamb’s Spiced Rum
12.5ml dark cacao
12.5ml butterscotch liquor
25ml cream
Shake all and double strain into martini glass.
Garnish with chocolate and nutmeg dust over Gecko stencil
