Seems things were moving too fast (despite being a formular 1 driver) for Lewis Hamilton as he announced his split from girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger, from the Pussycat Dolls, today.

A spokesman for them both said: “They have decided to go their separate ways. They want to focus fully on their careers and will remain close friends.”

There have been rumours of a split since last September when Hamilton, 25, was thought to be not ready to settle down.

Maybe it’s the age  difference? Nicole is six years older than him and Lewis has a very important career year ahead of him.

I’m sad to hear this news, I always thought they were a cute couple and they seemed so happy.

I was even there when they met in 2007 at the MTV awards in Munich (although I thought he was more of a fan than boyfriend material by the way he was literally drooling over her).

I’m sure both will have no shortage of future dates – good luck to them!
