Last night’s Academy Awards belonged to Girl Power as not only did Kathryn Bigelow become the first female Best Director winner, but Sandra Bullock received the Best Actress crown with her first ever Oscar nomination.
Kathryn dedicated her award to the servicemen and women currently serving in the armed forces saying: “May they come home safe”
Responding to questions after her victory, Sandra gave the following advice for all budding actors:
“Don’t aspire to be in these shoes. Walk in your own. My mother beat it into our heads to be original. Everyone is unique, that’s what makes someone exciting to watch. Just savor who you are.”
Great advice from a worthy champion.
