(1) The main thing that’s jumped to my attention this morning is a story about the salary TV duo Ant and Dec received to promote Nintendo Wii. It’s a total of £2 million – ie £1 million each!
Apparently they will develop games as well as fronting TV ads. Yeh, right…All I can say is Nintendo will have to sell a lot to make it worth it. And why not pay a cheaper celeb £100,000 and save £1,900,000 to make other games or even give to charity.
(2) I’m also outraged by all the Formula 1 cheats – the latest development is that Renault’s Flavio Briatore left today. The scandal dates back to the Singapore Grand Prix a year ago, when Flavio reportedly asked Renault driver Nelson Piquet Jr to crash so that team-mate Frenando Alonso could win the race. There’s too much money in the sport to expect it to be as simple as the most talented driver in the best car winning, but when the cheating is this bad it leads me to question is there any point in watching it any more?
(3) On a lighter note – Madonna may work with Janet Jackson. Apparently the two uber divas had dinner in New York and Madonna wants to do something in honour of Michael Jackson. I sooo hope this collaboration happens….
And finally there were tears in front of PM Gordon Brown at Downing Street yesterday when Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity performed and dropped their youngest member Perry Smith in a complicated dance move. He was thrown 20ft up into the air and then landed unceremoniously on his bottom.
Tip Of The Day: If you fail to prepare, you are preparing to fail. The Diversity guys should have practised more….
