We like James Corden, his acting abilities and his writing style have made him a firm favourite at Party Squad HQ.

Now we have even more reason to like James too, as he’s revealed, in an interview with ShortList that he believes his life is a picnic.

James was commenting on the failure of his BBC 3 sketch show Horne & Corden when he said: “It’s like that song, ‘I wish that I knew what I know now, when I was younger’. The only way to find out about these things is by trying them,”

“Regarding the sketch show, I didn’t go to Edinburgh for five years in a row learning my trade as I should have done. I was an actor on the back of a hit show.

“The truth is, honestly, I’m not good enough at writing sketches to write a sketch show. It was a mistake. There’s no point in doing something unless it’s going to be as good as Big Train or The Fast Show. Why bother? And the absolute truth is I wasn’t good enough.”

“The material wasn’t strong enough, but the torrent of abuse I got for it from the media was something else. But you can’t cry about it – my life is a picnic.”

It’s nice to see a star feeling pretty good about life, even if his sketch show was a failure.

We just hope that James keeps writing and performing both in new material and as the character Smithy from Gavin & Stacey, which we think is one of the strongest comedy characters of the century.

It’s just three days until the Oscars, and the media scrums to get a picture of the big stars have begun.

Only this time the media scrum occurred as the paparazzi tried to get a snap of Jordan as she landed in LA.

The reality star has travelled to America in order to join husband Alex Reid, who’s currently filming a martial arts documentary in the states.

Although she’s not well known as a personality in the US, the hordes of paparazzi were waiting to get a picture as Jordan’s image is still in demand in the UK market.

The event is certain to please Jordan, who is still desperately trying to become famous in the USA.

Congratulations to Holby City actress Tina Hobley (Chrissie Williams in the show) who has given birth to a healthy baby boy and named him Orson Wheeler.

The new addition was born on Monday and weighed a healthy 7lbs15 ozs. The actresses husband, Oliver Wheeler said: “Both Mummy and baby are doing well.”

Aww, congratulations Tina and Oliver!

Cheryl Cole is going to ‘fly, fly, fly, fly fly for this love’ (trust us, it’s going to catch on) as she is rumoured to be flying to France to meet with Ashley.

It’s thought that Cheryl has had a change of heart and is willing to meet with Ashley, who is currently in France receiving treatment for a broken ankle, to talk over their marriage. The couple are also thought to be attending marriage councelling once Ashley has returned to their home in Surrey.

Surely enough is enough Cheryl?

Sharon Osbourne is signing copies of her new book later, and we’d been told that the first 150 people to buy the book would receive exclusive wristbands and were guaranteed to meet Sharon. Zoe and I rushed down to Selfridges where the signing is taking place. The store opened at 9.30 and we were running 15 minutes late and panicking about the the size of the crowds that would greet us.

To our amusement we arrived to find an empty book department! A small security guard stood by a table guarding a big pile of wristbands (maybe protecting them from the all the invisible fans)

We got our books and had our red wristbands put on (the red ones are the special ones and means we’re right at the front!)

The last time Zoe came face to face with one of the Osbourne’s she ended up being slapped? I wonder what will happen when she meets the matriarch?

Katherine Jackson, the mother of the Jackson family issued a statement yesterday to combat rumours that have been flying around the media regarding her grandson Jaafar.  

It was reported that 13- year old Jaafar Jackson (son of Jermaine) had bought a stun gun over the internet.

However, Jaafar was prevented from hurting anyone in any way by his grand mother, who released a statement to explain the rumours:

“Two weeks ago, Jermaine Jackson’s 13-year old son, Jaafar, who lives with his mother Alejandra at the home of Mrs. Katherine Jackson, received a package with a stun gun he ordered online.”

“Jaafar opened the package alone in his bathroom and tested it on a piece of paper.  Mrs. Jackson and security heard the sound coming from the second floor of the house.”

“Immediately, security went upstairs and confiscated the stun gun. Mrs. Jackson took control over it and then had it removed from the house.”

“There was no other incident. Blanket Jackson never saw or heard the stun gun. Neither did Paris Jackson. Prince saw the stun gun in the possession of security. There is no second stun gun.

“All of the kids are happy, healthy and wonderful and that is Mrs. Jackson’s only objective and concern,”

We’re glad to hear that no one was hurt and just hope that the store who sold Jaafar the stun gun tightens their rules when it comes to buying weapons online.

Johnny Depp has revealed that he would love to make his own brand of wine.

Johnny, who lives in the south of France, admitted to French magazine VSD: “I have a secret desire to make wine. But I’ll keep it for myself before daring to sell it commercially. In the Var where I live, it’s very interesting. The region is notable for rose and it’s very good, though I prefer red myself.”

Johnny also praised the French lifestyle for letting him have a normal life by Hollywood standards.

“France has given me everything. A marvellous family and also an equilibrium which I missed enormously. With Vanessa and the kids, we live in a sort of little village in the south and I have the impression of being in paradise.

“Everything revolves around the children. ‘Where will we go for a walk? Should we eat at the house with them or maybe go for a picnic?’ These are the problems we face there.”

We’d love to try some Johnny Depp wine, especially if he names it after his characters, just think of the mixtures.

Edward Scissorhands wine (soft with a sharp edge), Sweeny Todd wine (dark red), Willy Wonka wine (chocolate) the possibilities are endless.

The Sugababes had a matinee performance and an evening show to launch their new album Sweet 7 today.

The evening one is still going on at the moment at London’s Supper Club but I’ve listened to it all already and got the photos of the girls at their sexiest best.

Yes, the line-up isn’t original and they probably don’t deserve to be called the Sugababes any more, but new girl Jade Ewen is a better singer than Keisha Buchannon.

Where she does struggle with a bit of the chat / Mc-ing compared to Keisha, she makes up for in sexiness. Her legs are to die for – I am officially JEALOUS!
